The calendar and its stars
The calendar is Quiltoku's memory. It shows every daily puzzle since the game began, which ones you solved and how, and it gives out stars for completing whole weeks, weekdays, months and years. This guide explains how to read it.
Reading the month
Open the calendar from the home screen. You see one month at a time, with Monday as the first day of the week. The game started on 15 August 2026, so that is the earliest day you can see, and the latest is today. Use the arrows to move between months.
- A filled tick means you solved that day's puzzle on the day itself.
- An outlined tick means you solved it later, from the calendar.
- An empty day is waiting for you. It is never locked.
Tap any day to see how long it took, and to play it or view the finished board. When you open a past day, the home screen shows "Viewing" and the number of the puzzle, and the Today button is the way back.
Where the stars come from
Stars are given for completing a whole period of days, and they count any solve, whether on the day or later. A hint never reduces a star. The periods are:
- ★ A row: a full week, Monday to Sunday.
- ★ A column: every one of a given weekday in the month, for example all the Fridays. The star appears at the foot of that column.
- ★ A month: every day of a calendar month.
- ★★ A quarter: three months.
- ★★★ A year: a full year.
The rule is that a period only counts if all of it falls within the life of the game. The opening week of 15 August and the month of August 2026 can never be starred, and nobody should feel behind because of a day that came before they began.
Celebrations
When a solve earns a new star, the result screen shows a gold banner, and fireworks go up. The bigger the star, the bigger the show: a week or a column gets three bursts, and a year gets sixteen. The animation is skipped if your device is set to reduce motion. Each star celebrates only once.
The trophy shelf
Under the grid there is a shelf where the stars you have earned in the current year are displayed together. It is the quick way to see what you have collected and what is still open.
Sharing your calendar
The Share button draws a picture of your calendar, with your stars and your streak brain, and offers it to the share sheet of your phone or computer. Some apps drop the text when a picture is attached, so the address is printed on the picture itself.
A record, not a deadline
The calendar is designed so that no day is ever lost. A missed puzzle is a puzzle you have not played yet. Play it whenever you like, and it will fill in the same star as if you had played it on the day. The one thing a late solve cannot do is count toward a streak, since a streak is about the days you showed up on the day.
